The Guthrie County Fair Board with Joe Vais Promotions are planning a weekend of activities for families on the Memorial Day weekend. With plenty of camping spots available on the south end of the fairgrounds, attendees are urged to bring their family and friends to enjoy the weekend together in Guthrie Center.
The Western Iowa Shootout features Figure 8 Racing, karaoke, music by the Jesse Wilson Band and more.
The fun begins on Friday, May 24. A Memorial Day ceremony will recognize veterans at 7 p.m. The race engines will rev at 7:30 p.m. followed by karaoke.
Saturday, May 25, promises activities for all ages. Power Wheels for youngsters ages 3-6 years old are slated at 2 p.m. (Sign up at the beer garden to participate). A Memorial Day service is planned at 5:30 p.m. followed by Figure 8 races at 6 p.m. Karaoke will close out the night.
On Sunday, May 26, take part in the Bags Tournament. Registration at the beer garden begins at 12 noon with action starting at 1:30 p.m. The Jesse Wilson Band takes the stage for a concert at 5:30 p.m.
Food vendors available onsite include Deardorff’s, Get R Fried, Hog Wild BBQ and Spartan Pizza.
