Special to the Times Vedette
On Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, four Sunshine Club members met at Gina Lloyd’s Art Studio for an 11 a.m. meeting and luncheon. Sandy called our meeting to order with the roll call being, “What is your favorite fall event?” Lots of interesting answers were given. Due to the secretary not in attendance, the minutes of the July meeting were not read nor was the treasurer’s report given. There was discussion on making fuzzy blankets 12 inches to 15 inches by 18 inches out of fleece with buttons, zippers and different textures, etc. for a community project. The club’s annual trip is scheduled for Sept. 29 to Reiman Botanical Gardens in Ames. Members are to meet at Morrisburg Church at 8 a.m.
The club’s annual Christmas party will be Dec. 9 at Patrick’s in Adel. Each member is to bring two of their favorite things for a grab bag exchange. The Linden Library will have a kids shopping time Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church. Each gift will be 25 cents. Any gently used items will be appreciated. Bring to the November meeting or call Maribee and she will pick them up.
Next month’s meeting will be with Trudy Woolman at her home.
The meeting adjourned, and lunch was served. The afternoon was spent painting door hangers for fall and Christmas.
