For more than 20 years, the annual “Haunted Village” event has been a popular tradition at the Guthrie County Historical Village in Panora. This year’s event saw unusually pleasant weather, which brought out even more little monsters.

Some of the buildings in the Historical Village included Halloween-themed displays and costumed characters. Outside, visitors enjoyed bouncy houses, performers and trick-or-treat stations.

Guthrie County Conservation Director Brad Halterman commented on the eerily pleasant conditions and noted, “We’ve had snow on the ground some years when we do this.”
