More than 50 members of the Wirt family reunited Oct. 10 for a picnic, games, memories and more.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, more than 50 Wirt family relatives gathered at the original Century Farm Wirt homestead five miles south of Panora for the 60th annual Wirt Fall Picnic.
Attendees were from numerous Iowa locations as well as Arizona, Missouri, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Mississippi, Kansas and Colorado.
This year’s picnic marked the first time many fifth-generation Wirts attended the affair that started in 1966. Scrapbooks, voice recording of memories, Wirt family bingo, a hayride through the cornfields and family history cards were enjoyed by all. The reunion was accompanied a wiener roast, beer and desserts.
A great time was had by all.
