The ACGC volleyball team (24-11) won its Class 2A Region 4 Quarterfinal matchup against AHSTW (8-24) at home on Wednesday, Oct. 22. ACGC dominated the sets, 25-15, 25-13 and 25-16.
Becca Littler led the team in assists with 36. Stella Largent was her biggest benefactor with a game-high 20 kills. That brings Largent’s kill total to 499, fourth highest in the state. Camdyn Richter was also solid on offense with 10 kills. Richter was also active on defense with a game-high 14 digs. Largent, Savannah Akers, Olivia Mahaffey and Nora Langgaard had one block each. Largent led the team in aces with five and successful serves with 19.
ACGC’s next game is on Monday, Oct. 27 at Woodward-Granger (28-10). The Chargers have struggled against W-G this season, losing all three matchups to their WCAC foe. The Hawks’ offense comes from Jill Jesse, who leads them in assists with 650. The duo of Alena Schaack with 322 and Calianna Fenceroy with 224 are their leaders in kills. The winner of that game will face either Grundy Center (33-9) or Earlham (20-15) in the regional final.
