The ACGC boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Jim Klein Invitational at South Hamilton on Thursday, Oct. 9. The boys team placed 12th overall with 248 points. Lynnville-Silly won the meet with 74 points. Preston Kent led the Chargers with a sixth-place finish in 17:43. Head Coach Rick Blake gave a shoutout to Stetson Ellis, who set a new personal best, breaking 22:00 for the first time.
For the girls race, ACGC placed ninth as a team with 225 points. West Marshall State Center won the meet with 59 points. Brooklyn Schafer led ACGC, placing 28th in 22:53. This was a new personal best for her. Kennedy Reinhart also set her personal best at the meet, beating her previous time by more than a minute.
The next meet for both squads is the West Central Activities Conference Meet on Thursday, Oct. 16. ACGC will host, welcoming in Des Moines Christian, Earlham, Interstate 35, Madrid, Ogden, Panorama, Pleasantville, Van Meter, West Central Valley and Woodward-Granger.
