The Charger baseball team (0-2) lost its second game of the season against Coon Rapids-Bayard on Wednesday, May 22. The Chargers had a 3-1 lead right out of the gates, but a strong second inning from the Crusaders tied it up at 4-4. ACGC took the lead in the fourth just for Coon Rapids-Bayard to tie it up again in the fifth. A seven-run inning in the bottom of the sixth by CRB proved to be the difference maker.
Leadoff hitter Tegan Slaybaugh showed why he’s in the one slot. The senior shortstop went 2-4 at the plate with an RBI. Blaize Dorsey and Noah Kading joined Slaybaugh with one RBI each. Dorsey was given the loss on the day after his three innings on the mound. Dorsey had three strikeouts and kept his opponents’ batting average to .154.
ACGC’s next game will be at home against Ogden (2-4) on Tuesday, May 28.
