The Charger volleyball team (20-10) traveled to Woodward-Granger High School for a tournament on Saturday, Oct. 19. ACGC had a monster slate of six games on the day, going 5-1. The Chargers defeated hosts Woodward-Granger (14-18) in the final, 2-0.

  • Game 3 vs. Boone: 2-1, W
  • Game 4 vs. Woodward-Granger: 2-0, L
  • Game 5 vs. Perry: 2-0, W
  • Game 6 vs. Woodward-Granger: 2-0, W

The tournament win will serve as a confidence boost ahead of the team’s postseason campaign. The Chargers were close to a state tournament berth last season, losing in the regional final to Dike-New Hartford. ACGC’s first playoff game is at home on Wednesday, Oct. 23 in the Class 2A Region 8 quarterfinals against Pleasantville (23-11). The teams have met twice this season with ACGC winning both matchups, 3-2, and 2-0.
