The ACGC boys track and field team competed in eight events over the weekend in the Iowa High School Track and Field State Championships on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18.

Lance Bunde was the first one out that day for the Chargers and brought home a state title. Bunde set a personal record in the high jump at 6-06.00.

The distance medley team of Joel Crawford, Anthony Solorzano, Lance Brincks and Jarrett McClain finished 19thin a time of 3:44.23.

Brexton Schneider and Treyton Schneider competed alongside each other in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing side by side as well. Brexton finished 14th with a time of 16.02, while Treyton finished just behind him in 15th with a time of 16.04.

Mike Fuller fouled in the discus and did not place.

The 4×200 meter relay team of Crawford, Bunde, McClain and Eli Madsen placed third in 1:31.14.

The 4×100 meter relay group of Crawford, Bunde, Solorzano and Madsen finished ninth in the prelims in 44.15.

The 4×400 meter relay team of Brincks, Bunde, McClain and Madsen set back-to-back season bests, 3:27.38 in the prelims, and 3:25.50 in the finals, good enough for a third-place finish.

Andrew Mahaffey was the final individual to compete for ACGC. He set a personal record in the 1600-meter run finishing 11th in 4:33.12.
