Ava Campbell and the sprint and distance medley teams competed in the Iowa State High School Track and Field State Championships on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18.
The distance medley team consisting of Nora Langgaard, Meranda Gruber, Savannah Akers and Campbell finished in sixth in 4:20.89.
Langgaard, Hannah Muller, Akers and Campbell made up the Chargers’ sprint medley team, which finished 22nd in 1:56.19.
Campbell competed in the 800- and 1500-meter runs on Saturday. Campbell set a personal record in the 800-meter with a time of 2:21.27, placing sixth. In the 1500-meter, Campbell placed fourth with a time of 4:57.06.
