The ACGC football team (9-0) made easy work of Logan-Magnolia (5-4) in the Class A First Round playoffs at home on Friday, Oct. 24. Joe Crawford and Brexton Schneider continued to tear up the grass. Crawford finished the game with 10 carries for 117 yards and one TD, as well as a 31-yard passing TD, and a 28-yard receiving TD. Schneider led the team in rushing with 22 carries for 133 yards and one TD. Thomas Skram also had 44 yards and one rushing TD. Morgun Nolte caught two passes for 46 yards and one score. The Charger defense was active with three interceptions, one apiece by Crawford, Kinnick Froehlich and William Skram. Charlie Christensen led the team in tackles with eight, five of them solo, and one for a loss.
The win moves ACGC on to the second round at home against Mount Ayr (6-3) on Friday, Oct. 31. Mount Ayr gave ACGC its toughest game of the season in a 28-20 win for the Chargers in mid-September. ACGC only had a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Neither team has lost since then. Mount Ayr had only allowed 18 points in the next four games after its loss to ACGC until its slugfest with St. Albert in the first round, when the Raiders won, 55-47.
