The ACGC football team (1-0) notched its first win of the season at Panorama on Friday, Aug. 28. The game was tied 7-7 by the end of the first, but the Chargers doing the majority of their damage in the second half, scoring 34 points in the third and fourth quarters.
There were some questions as to who would start under center for ACGC entering the season. Sophomore Andrew Baumert answered that question well in the season opener. Baumert went 2/5 for 42 yards and an INT through the air, but on the ground is where he impressed. He had 17 carries for 167 yards and four TDs. Lane Stringer, Ryder Cline, Ryan Martens and William Skram all had one rushing TD a piece.
Stringer led the team in tackles with six total and four solo. Casen McCool, Nathan Baxter and Brandon Carlson had one fumble recovery each. Skram was sharp on defense with three INTs.
ACGC’s next game is against Southwest Valley (2-0) at home on Friday, Sept. 4.
