The No. 13 ACGC girls basketball (21-1) team had an excellent first half that led to a home playoff win over Earlham (12-11) on Tuesday, Feb. 18. ACGC went into the break leading 40-16, giving the team enough cushion to cruise to the victory despite being outscored by Earlham in the second half. Camdyn Richter’s 19-point, 11-rebound double-double was key for the Chargers. Shay Lemke with 12 points and Meranda Gruber with 10 points joined her in double figures. The win sends ACGC into the Class 2A Region 1 semifinals at home against Central Decatur (14-8), tonight, Friday, Feb. 21. Central Decatur is led by Breegan Lindsey: in points with 10.5 and rebounds with 8.3. The winner of this game will play against the winner of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Pleasantville to become regional champion.
