Several ACGC athletes got off the blocks yesterday, May 16 during the first day of the Iowa High School State Track and Field Championships at Drake Stadium.

Eli Madsen finished 19th in the 200-meter dash prelims, setting a personal record at 22.93 in the process. Andrew Mahaffey competed in the boys 3200-meter run, finishing seventh with a time of 9:49.95. The 4×800 meter relay team consisting of Gavin Sloss, Jarrett McClain, Easton Stringham and Mahaffey finished 12th with a time of 8:26.47. The shuttle hurdle team of Jathan South, Tate Fever, Brexton Schneider and Treyton Schneider were DQ’d in the prelims.
