On Monday, May 13, the Panorama boys golf team won the 2A District Golf Final against 10 other schools on the Lake Panorama National Golf Course, sending them to the state meet. The Panther clubs were hot all morning long as the boys scored a 303, just two strokes better than second-place Pella Christian.

As of Bound this morning, three Panthers finished inside the top five for the lowest 18-hole totals on the day. This includes Evan Powell’s meet leading 71. Maddox Hammerstrom and Parker Cary joined Powell in the top five.

It’ll be a quick turnaround for the boys. The state tournament will be held May 20-21 at the Coldwater Golf Links in Ames. They’ll face off against Beckman Catholic, Cherokee, Grundy Center, Kuemper Catholic, Pella Christian and Treynor. The Dike-New Hartford District is yet to play, their results will round out the rest of the competition.
