The No. 3 ACGC football team (7-0) earned a dominant away victory against AHSTW (3-4) on Friday, Oct. 10. Thomas Skram was called upon for a rare two passing attempts, resulting in two catches for 85 yards and one touchdown. Both passes were caught by Joe Crawford. Crawford was also solid on the ground with 11 rushing attempts for 107 yards and three TDs. Brexton Schneider led the rushing attack with 25 carries for 159 yards and two TDs. Ryder Cline (82 yards) and Skram (78) also contributed to ACGC’s 426 rushing yards on the day. Xander Harwood led the team in tackles with eight. He and Carter Richter recorded one sack each.
ACGC’s final game of the season will be its toughest test yet. The Chargers host No. 9 Riverside (6-1) on Friday, Oct. 17. Riverside is once again led by one of the best running backs in the state: Jaxon Gordon. Gordon currently has 1,827 rushing yards for 24 TDs. Slowing him down will be crucial to a Charger win. These squads have faced off each of the last two seasons. ACGC won last year’s 50-42 shootout and earned a 27-15 victory in 2023.
