The No. 4 ACGC boys basketball team completed the comeback victory away from home against Pleasantville (9-10) on Friday, Feb. 7. ACGC was down by three points at the end of the first quarter and eight points at halftime. The Chargers outscored Pleasantville 17-8 in the third quarter to take a one-point lead in the final quarter where they would hold on for the narrow win. Payton Policky led the team in scoring with 17 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to extend his double-double streak. Jathan South, Joe Crawford and Noah Kading joined him in double figure scoring, each with 11 points. Kading led in assists with six. ACGC has two games this week. Tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 11, the Chargers face No. 2 Madrid (19-0). The singular blemish on ACGC’s record this season is courtesy of the Tigers. On Thursday, Feb. 13, ACGC hosts Underwood (15-4). After that final regular season game, on Monday, Feb. 17, No. 1 seed ACGC will host either No. 8 seed Exira-EHK or No. 9 seed West Harrison in the 1A Substate 8 District 15 playoffs.
