The Panorama boys track and field team competed against 13 other 1A schools to qualify for the state meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines May 16-18. As a team, Panorama scored 68 points. ACGC won the event by a comfortable amount with 161 points.

Panorama had one automatic qualifier on the day, Braylon Dawes for his sprint in the 400-meter dash. The other potential qualifiers from Panorama will have to wait until the rest of the races from around the state are finalized to know if they will be joining Dawes later this May.

Once they’re available, results will be posted on IHSAA’s website, www.iahsaa.org.

According to the IHSAA, “In Class 1A, the top place winner in each event plus the next 14 best performances statewide from qualifying meet place winners will advance to the state meet. If there are ties, the highest qualifying meet place winner (1st – 8th) will be the qualifier.”
