After a 7-0 thumping of Perry over the weekend in a preseason scrimmage, the Panorama girls soccer team (1-0) welcomed Harlan Community (0-1) into Panora on Monday, March 25 and sent them home after winning 3-1.
All four goals from the game were scored in the first half. Morgan Crees and Mia Waddle seemed to enjoy finding the back of the net so much so during their state basketball run, it translated to the soccer pitch. The two scored all three of Panorama’s goals, Crees with 2 and Waddle with 1. Waddle assisted Crees on one of her goals, while Shay Lemke provided the other two assists.
Panorama split goalkeeping duties, with Juliana Rizzuti between the sticks for the start. Rizzuti produced four saves before relinquishing the role to Bridgete White. White would keep a clean sheet in the second half and have three saves.
The Panthers next test will be in WCAC action at West Central Valley on Friday, March 29.
