The Panorama softball team (7-21) defeated Madrid (8-19) at home on Wednesday, July 2. The game was close early on with Panorama trailing at the top of the fourth inning, 7-6. A six-run burst in the bottom of the fourth put the Panthers on top for the win.

“It was a great night for our team. We had several girls contribute in big ways defensively and offensively. We had great energy and focus tonight, and I could not be more proud of the girls. We played as a team tonight and showed what we are capable of doing when we put it together,” Head Coach Ismael Galvan said.

Leah Kastner was dominant in this one with a team-high four RBIs. Andrea Knode hit the team’s only homerun and had two RBIs. Emma Walker, Lexi Galvan, Bridgete White and Ava Thompson had one RBI each. Andrea Knode picked up the win on the mound, pitching five innings with two strikeouts. Lexi Galvan pitched two innings and struck out three.

The Panthers’ next game is at home today, Thursday, July 3, against Glidden-Ralston (14-5).
