The Panorama softball team (5-14) defeated West Central Valley (11-10) at home on Tuesday, June 24, 13-12. This was a back-and-forth game from the beginning.
“What a win tonight for this Panther softball team. We battled all the way to the end, keeping our composure even after giving up a six-run lead,” Head Coach Ismael Galvan said. “These girls stayed mentally tough and kept pushing forward and never faltered. Andrea Knode came up with the big hit of the night, roping a three-run homerun to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. We then were able to shut it down in the top of the seventh with the tying run at third to get the victory. What a fun and exciting game that we were able to come out on top at the end and look forward to keeping the momentum going tomorrow night.”
Leah Kastner was dominant at the plate as well. She had three hits for a team-high four RBIs. Knode had three RBIs, and Bridgete White had two. Lexi Galvan and Ava Thompson contributed one RBI apiece.
