The Panorama boys track and field team competed at the state-qualifying meet at Treynor High School May 14, placing ninth with 41 points. The host team, Treynor, captured first with 121 points, which was a commanding lead over second-place finisher Shenandoah at 99 points.
Reed Draper highlighted with first place in the long jump. Syler Shaffer captured second in the 400-meter hurdles.
Other top-five finishers included: Cristian Monrroy-Nunez, fourth, shot put; the 800-meter sprint medley team of J. Gimeno-Perez, C. Crandall, B. Bahrenfuss and B. Schwartz, fourth; and Corbin Deardorff, fifth, 400 meters.
