It took an extra inning, but the Panorama softball team (1-3) picked up its first win of the season against Manson-NW Webster (2-1) on Friday, May 24.
The two teams traded leads several times Friday night. Panorama went into the fifth inning up, 7-1, only to come out of it down, 10-7. Trailing 11-7 going into the final half inning, the Panthers rallied to score four runs and tie the game before finishing the game off in the eighth.
Arilyan Steenblock and Jaidyn Sellers both hit homeruns. RBIs were contributed up and down the order. Andrea Knode, Elah Malloy, Steenblock and Hannah Dishman all had two RBIs. Lindy Nelson, Bridgette Ewing and Sellers each had one. Hanna Smith reached base in all three of her at-bats with two singles and a double, scoring runs twice.
Jadyn Lawrence was awarded the win in her three innings on the mound. In addition to Steenblock’s homerun, she also pitched four innings, striking out six batters.
The girls’ next game is tonight, Tuesday, May 28 at home against Madrid.
