The Panorama softball team (3-4) secured two wins during a WCAC doubleheader at Earlham (3-7) on Friday, June 5. Game one was a close contest, with Panorama pulling ahead in the final inning. The second game was a rout.
Game 1, 4-3 W
Panorama opened the scoring with three runs in the second inning. It wasn’t until the fifth inning when Earlham answered back with three runs of its own, tying the game. Panorama scored once in the seventh inning, which proved to be enough. Emma Walker led with two RBIs, one single and one double. Hannah Dishman and Aleah Knode had one RBI each. Ines-Gimeno Perez, Elah Molloy, Dishman and Bridgete White all had one single. Lexi Galvan spent all seven innings on the mound, striking out seven batters and securing the win.
Game 2, 17-3 W
Offense was much easier to come by in the second game. Panorama scored four runs in the first, four in the second, five in the third and four in the fourth to end the game early. Andrea Knode led the way going 3/3 with two singles, one double and three RBIs. Lexi Galvan went 2/4 with one single and one double with one RBI. Hannah Dishman had one RBI via walk. Elah Molloy, Ines Gimeno-Perez and Bryna Wearmouth all had one single. Emma Walker reached base on two walks and was hit by pitches twice, and stole three basses. Knode pitched all four innings, striking out two batters to earn the win.
