“LOCKED” AGAIN. Ten year old Alison Hanner, daughter of Joe and Michele Hanner, Guthrie Center, donated 10 inches of her hair to the Locks of Love program that makes wigs for children with cancer. For her first professional haircut, Main Street Hair Design in Panora did the honors.

4-H ROYALTY. Jessica Millhollin and Russ Love were crowned queen and king of the 1996 Guthrie County Fair. Jessica is a U.S. Sunbeam and is the daughter of Donna Millhollin and Paul Millhollin.
Russ is a Wichita Wildcat, son of Raymond and Lazetta Love. Both are seniors at Guthrie Center High School.

AT WORKSHOP. Cynthia Hansen of Guthrie Center is one of 22 high school sophomores and juniors who completed a Summer Environmental Biology Institute at Wartburg College in Waverly. The students, who were selected on basis of scholastic ability and scientific motivation, were introduced to the ecology of the prairies, rivers and streams, wetlands and deciduous forests of northeast Iowa. The institute was funded by the National Science Foundation. The 22 participating students came from 11 states.
