Panorama winning streak continues against Van Meter, 3-2

That’s seven on the trot for the Panorama girls soccer team (7-0). Their perfect start to the season continued against Van Meter (4-4) away from home on Thursday, April 18. One of the Panthers’ tougher tests so far this season, the game was tied at half, 1-1, but Panorama was able to pull away in the second half. Individual stats were not available as of press time.

The Panorama girls golfers found themselves in second place by the end of their conference golf meet on Thursday, April 18 with a final score of 240. Host Woodward-Granger won the meet, shooting a 204.

The weather hasn’t been too kind to Panorama’s golfers this season, but Head Coach Melissa Hochstetler spirits are still high.

“They have not had the best days to play golf in yet, but it’s spring in Iowa, so you know it’s always going to be something,” said coach Hochstetler. “The girls have continued to lower their scores. I am so proud of them for being so new to the sport.”

Panther golfers win WCAC Golf Quad

Drivers, woods, irons, wedges and putters were all on fire for the Panorama boys golf team on Thursday, April 18. The team took first place by double digits, shooting a 151. Woodward-Granger placed second with 161. Panorama had the three best nine-hole lows on the day with Evan Powell, Parker Cary and Brayden Galvan in that order.

Panthers take fifth at Bill Miller Invite

Panorama’s girls track and field team scored 61 points on its way to a fifth-place finish in Van Meter on Monday, April 15. Host Van Meter won the meet with 126 points.

Jaidyn Sellers continues her return to action with gold-medal performances in the 100- and 400-meter dashes. Arilyan Steenblock joined her as a medal winner with her bronze-medal toss in discus. Panorama gained a large share of points from just missing out on top three spots with fourth- and fifth-place finishes dotting their results.

Panthers set school record at Bill Miller Invite

The Panorama boys track and field team placed sixth at the Bill Miller Invite in Van Meter on Monday, April 15. They scored a total of 59 points. PCM took first placed on the evening with 135 points.

Panorama set a school record In the 800-meter sprint medley relay, consisting of Klayton Bremer, Ryan Cogil, Ashton Hutchins and Braylon Dawes.

“Great night to run, perfect weather and great competition. We set numerous new season and personal best marks,” Head Coach Bruce Dahlhauser said.

The 4×400 relay team earned a silver. The record-setting 800 medley team earned bronze, missing out on gold by less than 4 tenths of a second. The 1600 medley relay team also secured bronze. Syler Shaffer took home Panorama’s lone gold medal on the night in the 110-meter hurdles. Noah Poldberg earned bronze for his effort in the 3200-meter run, and Braylon Dawes received a silver medal for his leap in the high jump.
