Panthers fall to No. 4 Des Moines Christian, 6-1

The Panorama girls soccer team (11-4-1) had its hot streak come to an end away from home against No. 4 Des Moines Christian (10-2-3) on Monday, May 12. Panorama’s one goal came from Morgan Crees. In goal, Bridgette White had 18 saves. Panorama will have another ranked test tonight, Tuesday, May 13, at No. 12 Tri-Center (11-1-3). Tri-Center won last year’s matchup in a close 2-1 game.

Panorama girls soccer wins both weekend games 10-0 over Central Iowa United, Creston

The Panorama girls soccer team (11-3-1) won a pair of games by double-digits in Creston on Saturday, May 10. Panorama defeated Central Iowa United (3-10) thanks to four goals from Morgan Crees, a hat trick from Shay Lemke and one goal apiece from Ashley Crees, Nerea Gimeno Perez and Neele Wirths. Morgan Crees, Taylor Fronapfel, Ashley Crees, Jessica Randol and Neele Wirths all had one assist. Against Creston (3-10-2), Morgan Crees led the way in scoring again, this time with six goals. She crossed the 50-goal mark for the season in this game. Shay Lemke added another hat trick, and Jessica Randol scored once to round out the 10-goal win. Assists came from Gimeno Perez with two and Morgan Crees with one.

Panthers place 2nd at Panorama Coed Invite; Recker wins 200-meter dash

The Panorama girls track and field team scored 85 points at the Panorama Invitational on Thursday, May 8. Van Meter won the meet with 144 points. Faith Recker secured Panorama’s only gold medal at meet in the 200-meter dash. Faith Recker in the 100-meter dash, Gracie Recker in the shot put and discus, the 4×100-meter and 4×200-meter relay teams won silver. Maddy Lutz won bronze in the 100-meter dash, as did Kylie Rochholz in the 800-meter run and Emma Walker in the shot put. The girls next meet is the 2A state qualifier in Clarinda on Thursday, May 25. Panorama will compete against Audubon, Central Decatur, Clarinda, Interstate 35, Missouri Valley, Red Oak, Shenandoah, Treynor, Tri-Center, Underwood and West Central Valley.

Panorama runners place 8th at Merritt-Charger Invitational; Shaffer wins gold in hurdles

The Panorama boys track and field team scored 42 points at the Merritt-Charger Invitational at ACGC on Monday, May 12. Earlham won the meet with 109 points. Syler Shaffer won gold in the 400-meter hurdles by 0.4 second. Noah Poldberg won silver in the 800-meter run. The distance medley relay team won bronze. The team had 13 top-10 finishes across all events. Panorama’s next meet is the 2A state qualifier at Clarinda High School on Thursday, May 15. Panorama will compete against Central Decatur, Clarinda, Interstate 35, Missouri Valley, Red Oak, Shenandoah, Treynor, Tri-Center, Underwood and West Central Valley.

The Panorama boys track and field team scored 64 points at the Panorama Invite on Thursday May 8. Earlham won the meet with 130 points. Noah Poldberg won gold for the Panthers in the 3,200-meter run, as did Syler Shaffer in the 400-meter hurdles. The 800-meter sprint medley relay team and the distance medley relay team won silver. The 4×200-meter and 4×400-meter relay teams won bronze.
