Adair-Casey 2000 championship team honored at ACGC game

Members of the 2000 Adair-Casey Bomber football squad were honored during halftime of the ACGC Chargers game against Nodaway Valley on Sept. 12. Adair-Casey won the state title in 2000 and 2001, the first two years that Iowa schools competed in 8-player football.

The Panorama Panthers are celebrating Homecoming this week. The Homecoming court was announced on Monday, Sept. 15. All this week, students are encouraged to dress in a daily theme, as follows:

  • Monday, Sept. 15 was Pajama Day
  • Tuesday, Sept. 16 is Twin Day
  • Wednesday, Sept. 17 is USA Day
  • Thursday, Sept. 18 is Teen Beach Day
  • Friday, Sept. 19 is Panther Day

Friday’s events include a parade from 12:30-1:15 p.m. and a pep rally at the football field from 1:15-1:45 p.m. The Homecoming football game on Sept. 19 against West Central Valley will see the Panthers hosting the Wildcats at 7 p.m. 

The final Homecoming event will be the dance from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Panther cross country hosts meet on Thursday

The Panorama boys and girls cross country teams will host a cross country meet on Thursday, Sept. 18. Other teams at the meet will be ACGC, Atlantic, Carroll, Clarinda, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Exira-EHK, Greene County, Nodaway Valley, Ogden, PCM, Perry, Red Oak, Roland-Story, Southeast Valley, Van Meter and West Central Valley.

Panorama football falls to Earlham, 42-7

The Panorama football team (1-2) lost at Earlham (2-1) on Friday, Sept. 12. Panorama’s lone touchdown came from a Cruz Crandall pass to Latyn Ashworth. Crandall went 14/30 in the air for 154 yards, one TD and three INTs. Ashworth was his favorite target, catching five balls for 76 yards and one score. Reed Draper caught six passes for 46 yards. Austin Wagner got the majority of the work on the ground with 14 carries for 44 yards. Gavin Lindstrom led the team in tackles with nine. Trey Ratcliff and Cole Carstens had one tackle for loss each. Casey Young had one fumble recovery.

Panorama’s next game is at home against West Central Valley (1-2) on Friday, Sept. 19. Panorama leads the series 11-3-1 since 2008 but lost last season’s matchup in a close 28-21 game.
