Panther boys place 10th at Merritt-Charger Invitational, to compete at state qualifier on Thursday

The Panorama boys track and field team scored 39 points to place 10th at the Merritt-Charger Invitational on Monday, May 11 at ACGC. Treynor won the meet with 126 points. The Panthers did not take home any medals at the meet but came close in several events.

Fourth-place finishes came from Connor Deardorff in the 400-meter hurdles, Cristian Monrroy-Nunez in the discus, the sprint medley relay team of Braden Bahrenfuss, Cruz Crandall, Reed Draper and Syler Shaffer and the 4×200-meter relay team of Hunter Kempf, Crandall, Bahrenfuss and Draper. Fifth-place finishes were earned by Shaffer in the 200-meter dash and the distance medley relay team of Jorge Gimeno-Perez, Court Vogel, Graysen Shaffer and Bladyn Wearmouth.

The boys next competition is the 2A State Qualifying Meet at Treynor on Thursday, May 14. In 2A, the top two place winners in each event, plus the next eight best performances statewide, will advance to the state meet. Panorama will compete against Clarinda, Kuemper Catholic, Missouri Valley, MVAOCOU, Nodaway Valley, Red Oak, Shenandoah, Treynor, Tri-Center, Underwood and West Central Valley.

Panorama girls to compete at 2A Region 8 State Qualifying Meet at Treynor on Thursday

The Panorama girls track and field team will compete with a chance at state on the line at the Class 2A Region 8 State Qualifying Meet at Treynor on Thursday, May 14. The girls hit the blocks against Clarinda, Kuemper Catholic, MVAOCOU, Nodaway Valley, Red Oak, Shenandoah, Treynor, Tri-Center, Underwood and West Central Valley. The team that wins the meet will qualify for the state meet plus those who placed first and second in the events.

Panther girls fall to No. 3 Des Moines Christian, 5-0

The Panorama girls soccer team (11-2) had its winning streak snapped at home against No. 3 Des Moines Christian (11-2-1) on Monday, May 11. Panorama was unable to capitalize on its four shots on goal. Meredith Arganbright had 12 saves in the contest.

The girls face another ranked test at home tonight, Tuesday, May 12, against No. 8 Tri-Center (9-4-1). Tri-Center leads the series all-time, 3-1, but Panorama was victorious in a shootout last season, 5-4.

Panther girls are champions at Creston Tournament

The Panorama girls soccer team (11-1) won both of its games at the Creston Tournament on Saturday, May 9. Panorama defeated Riverside (6-5), 5-0, and against Creston (4-5-2), 10-0.

Against Riverside, Morgan Crees and Kailee Kautzky each scored two goals. Nerea Gimeno-Perez had two assists. Morgan Crees and Karli Kautzky had one assist each. Meredith Arganbright had five saves.

Against Creston, Morgan Crees continued to find the back of the net, scoring seven goals. The other three goals were scored by Ines Gimeno-Perez, Kailee Kautzky and Nerea Gimeno-Perez. Morgan Crees also added two assists. Ines Gimeno-Perez and Kailee Kautzky had one assist each. Arganbright and Jamie Fronapfel split time in goal, both producing one save. Morgan Crees is now up to 40 goals on the season, second most in the entire state.

Charger girls golf place 3rd at Coon Rapids-Bayard triangular

The ACGC girls golf team shot a 227 at the CR-B Triangular on Monday, May 11. ACGC was a mere three strokes behind second-place Glidden-Ralston. CR-B won the meet, shooting a 209. Scores for ACGC were not available as of press time. The next meet for the girls is the Panorama Invite, today, Tuesday, May 12. ACGC golfs against Des Moines Christian, North Polk, Panorama and Woodward-Granger.
