On May 19, a total of 39 women participated. In the A group, Ai Dunlop was the low scratch winner with 37. The second low scratch winner was Deb Rockwell with 38. The HDCP winner was Cathy Klinge with 27. The special event was closest to the pin on the first drive, won by Sharon Wedemeyer. Karen Eby, Kathy Klinge, and Sharon Wedemeyer tied for the fewest putts at 15.

In the B group, the low scratch winner was Colleen Arneson with 42. The second low scratch winners were Ann Chambers and JoAnn Johnson with 45. The HDCP winner was Tami Kuta with 30. There was no special events winner for group B. JoAnn Johnson had the fewest putts with 16.

There were 17 pars, no birdies, and no chip ins this week.

The Panorama girls golf team shot a 433 to place third at the first round of regionals hosted by South Hamilton on Friday, May 15. BCLUW won the meet, shooting a 381. BCLUW’s Gracie Andrews was the medalist, shooting a 91. Panorama’s Anabel Pudenz just missed out on tying her, placing second with a 92.

The Panthers travel to New Sharon for the Class 1A Region 3 meet hosted by North Mahaska on Wednesday, May 20. Panorama golfs against AGWSR, BCLUW, BGM, Central Decatur, Colo-Nesco, HLV-TC, Martensdale-St Marys, Mount Ayr, North Mahaska, Sigourney and South Hamilton.

The Panorama girls soccer team (12-3) won at home against Logan-Magnolia (2-12-1) on Friday, May 15. The victory puts the Panthers back into the win column after two ranked defeats earlier in the week. Morgan Crees had a hat trick, Kailee Kautzky scored two goals, and Ines Gimeno-Perez and Nerea Gimeno-Perez added one apiece. Crees and Kautzky also provided two assists each, and Ines Gimeno-Perez added one assist.

The next game for the girls is against Underwood (6-7) at home tonight, Tuesday, May 19.

The lone state qualifier for the Panorama girls track and field team is Kylie Rochholz. She will sport the Panorama blue against the best of 2A at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Rochholz competes in the 3,000-meter run on Thursday, May 21 at 3:20 p.m. and in the 1,500-meter run on Saturday, May 23 at 2:40 p.m. The events will be available to watch for free on the IHSAA’s website HERE.

The Panorama boys track and field team are sending two athletes to the state meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Syler Shaffer qualified for the 400-meter hurdles, and Reed Draper qualified for the long jump, setting a school record in the process. The events will be available to watch for free on the IHSAA’s website HERE.

ACGC boys golf was able to send one golfer to the 1A state-qualifying meet hosted by St. Edmund on Monday, May 18. Sayer Bireline-Huss, who has put together a solid sophomore season for the Chargers, placed 20^th, shooting an 85. Gladbrook-Reinbeck and Coon Rapids-Bayard tied for first, shooting a 315. Don Bosco’s Blake Irvin and Earlham’s Will Harris and Blaine Vanderheiden tied for the medalist spot, shooting 74.
