Hansen is A Group low scratch winner with 33

On May 28, a total of 58 women participated. In the A Group, Carrie Hansen was the low scratch winner with 33. The second low scratch winner was Kelli Koeningsberg with 34. The HDCP winner was Julie Rose with 26. The special event was longest putt on hole No. 7, won by Peg Carr. Susan Thompson had the fewest putts with 15.

In the B Group, the low scratch winners were Kathy Delucca and Diane Pieper with 41. The second low scratch winner was Mary Kay O’Grady with 42. The HDCP winner was Donna Brody with 25. The special event was longest putt on hole No. 7, won by Beth Muenzenberger. Donna Brody, Kathy Delucca and Kathy Feilmeyer had the fewest putts with 16.

Carrie Hansen, Kelli Koeningsberg, Shelli Larsen and Rhoda Williams each had one birdie. Peg Carr, Kathy Delucca and Kathy Feilmeyer each had one chip-in. There were 29 pars.

Crawmer shoots 28 for low score

A total of 41 golfers participated in the Tuesday night men’s league on May 26 at Lake Panorama West Golf Gourse. Trent Crawmer shot a 1 over par 28 for the low score. Ted Ericson made the longest putt. Jay Ganske was closest to the pin. Kevin Koengberg needed just 14 putts. The scramble was on by the team of Ryan Smith, Dave Breitbach, Mike Moore and Andy Harreson with a score of 3 under par.

Panorama softball opens season against No. 12 Pleasantville on Thursday

The Panorama softball team hits the diamond for the first time this season at home against No. 12 Pleasantville on Thursday, May 28. This will be a tough opening game against one of the conference’s best teams. Panorama lost both games to Pleasantville last season, 5-4 and 13-7.

Panthers fall to Ankeny Christian, 1-0

The Panorama baseball team (0-2) lost at Ankeny Christian (3-0) on Friday, May 22. The Eagles scored one run in the first inning, which they would hold onto for the rest of the game for the win. Panorama had two hits in the game, singles by Brayden Meinecke and Braden Bahrenfuss. Nolan Sheehy and Brayden Galvan split time on the mound. In four innings of work, Sheehy allowed just three hits, struck out two batters and kept a 1.75 ERA. In Galvan’s two innings, he allowed one hit, struck out four and surrendered no runs.

The next game for the Panthers is at home against WCAC foe ACGC (1-0). Panorama holds the all-time record over the Chargers at 21-11 since 2008, but the Chargers have had the upper hand in recent years. ACGC defeated Panorama twice last season, 9-8 and 8-0.

Rochholz finishes 3rd in 1,500-meter and 4th in 3,200-meter at state championships, sets two school records

Panorama’s Kylie Rochholz was the lone qualifier for the Panorama girls track and field team at the IHSAA 2A state track and field championships from Thursday, May 21 to Saturday, May 23. Rochholz qualified for two events, the 1,500-meter and 3,000-meter runs, and set school records in both of them. She earned a bronze medal in the 1,500-meter run in 4:41.64. Van Meter’s Laura Streck won the event in 4:34.28. Rochholz also placed fourth in the 3,000-meter run in 10:23.39. Van Meter’s Streck also won gold in this event in 9:48.31.
