The Panorama volleyball team (5-5) hosted a triangular on Saturday, Sept. 26. The two wins brings the Panthers record back to .500. Panorama escaped the weekend without dropping a set, defeating Perry (2-22), 2-0 and Paton-Churdan (5-7), 2-0.

Hailey Hellman led the Panthers in assists with 10. Leah Carstens led the team in kills with six, Jessican Randol with five and Ashley Crees with four were close behind. Digs were also spread throughout the squad, with Lexi Galvan leading with six. In total, 14 Panthers recorded a dig. Nerea Gimeno-Perez led in aces with three.

Gimeno-Perez led in assists this time with 13. Crees led the way in kills with seven, Randol was close behind with five. Galvan led in digs again, this time with 18. Gimeno-Perez was dominate serving with seven.

The Panorama football team (0-5) lost at home to No. 8 Interstate 35 on Friday, Sept. 25. The Roadrunners scored all 42 points in the first half.

Panorama’s lone TD was scored in the fourth quarter by Devonne Bell. Bell had a productive day on the ground with 16 carries for 96 yards. Cole Carstens led the team in tackles with six. Jairet Tigges had a tackle for loss. Cruz Crandall had an INT to go along with three tackles.

Panorama’s next game is against West Marshall (3-2) away from home on Friday, Oct. 2. W-M defeated Panorama last season, 51-7.

The ACGC boys and girls cross country teams compete at West Central Valley on Thursday, Oct. 1. The girls run against BGM, Montezuma, Lynnville-Sully, Melcher-Dallas, Nodaway Valley, WCV, Ankeny Christian and Colfax-Mingo. The boys run against the same plus Woodward-Academy.

The ACGC volleyball team (22-4) continues to show why it deserves to earn a ranked spot after winning five games and the championship at the BV Classic on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Chargers defeated Audubon (5-14), 2-0, Missouri Valley (15-6), 2-1, No. 12 West Monona (11-3), 2-1, Denison-Schleswig (2-17), 2-0 and Boyer Valley (4-22), 2-0. Stella Largent, Ilana Baumert and Kailee Kautzky were all named All-Tournament Team for their performances over the weekend.

The next game for the Chargers is at Panorama (5-5) tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 29. ACGC has won twice against Panorama already this season, 3-1 and 3-0.

The ACGC football team (4-1) last lost a regular season football game on Oct. 14, 2022. The Chargers lost at home against No. 4 Madrid (5-0) on Friday, Sept. 25. The Tigers held ACGC to just 67 yards for the shutout. Will Skram led ACGC in rushing with six carries for 34 yards. Ryder Cline with 12, Ty Ganzer and Kinnick Froehlich with 10 each led ACGC in tackles. Lane Stringer had two tackles for a loss. Froehlich also had an INT.

ACGC faces another tough test this Friday, Oct. 2 when the team travels to Danville (4-1). This will be the first meeting between the programs.

The No. 14 Panorama girls cross country team finished 8^th at the ACGC Cross Country Meet on Thursday, Sept. 24. The Panthers scored 212 points at the meet. West Marshall State Center scored 58 to win. Ava Hope of Winterset won the meet in 18:31. Panorama’s best finish came from Kylie Rochholz, who placed second in 19:06.

The next meet for the Panthers is on Monday, Sept 28 at the Ogden Invitational. Panorama will compete against 14 other teams.
