The No. 5 ACGC boys basketball team (22-3) lost in the substate final to Remsen St. Mary’s (21-4) on Saturday, March 1. ACGC started the game slowly with only six points in the first quarter. The Chargers battled back to go into halftime down 29-24. A rough third quarter saw the Hawks extend its lead to 12 heading into the fourth quarter. ACGC played a strong final stanza, but it was not enough to complete the comeback. Jathan South led the team in scoring with 14 points and in assists with four. Noah Kading scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Payton Policky ended the season with another double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
