The Panther softball team (6-15) battled ACGC (2-16) in a close, back-and-forth game but came up a run short in the 10-9 loss Wednesday, June 25, at home.
Bats were hot from the beginning with both teams scoring three runs in the first inning. Panorama took a 5-3 lead, which held until the fourth inning when ACGC plated three runs to go on top 6-5. The Panthers answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth for a 7-6 lead. ACGC bounced back with three runs in the sixth to lead and another in the seventh to take a lead the Panthers couldn’t overcome.
Emma Walker, Lexi Galvan and Leah Kastner scored twice, and Bridgete White, Ava Thompson and Ines Gimeno-Perez each added a run. Galvan hit a home run. Andrea Knode led in RBIs with three, with Galvan adding two and Leah Kastner and Arilyan Steenblock adding one apiece. Knode and Galvan split time on the mound.
