By Cyote Williams | Times Vedette

On Saturday, April 20, the Panorama girls soccer team (9-0) traveled to Denison to compete in the Denison High School soccer tournament. Their opponents were East Sac County (3-4) and Denison (1-5). They beat Riverside, 10-0 and East Sac County, 9-0.

The Panorama boys track and field team came out of the blocks better on Thursday, April 18 than they have all season. The team finished second with 75 points behind ACGC, which scored 114.

“This night was all about the team,” said Head Coach Bruce Dahlhauser. “Every guy on our roster contributed to our highest team finish in several years, by far the most impressive performance since I’ve been here.”

The Panthers achieved this great performance despite dealing with athletes battling sickness, injuries and complications with other sports.

“In the process, we saw some outstanding performances. Great things happen when we put the team first and compete for each other and not ourselves,” Dahlhauser said.

Ashton Hutchins earned a silver medal in the 100-meter dash and bronze in the 200-meter. Braylon Dawes ran his way to a silver medal in the 400-meter. Noah Poldberg earned both of Panorama’s gold medals on the day in the 800- and 3200-meter runs. Panorama also earned a bronze medal for its effort in the 1600 medley relay.

By Cyote Williams | Times Vedette

Panorama’s girls head track and field coach, Greg Thompson, said phenom Jaidyn Sellers has qualified for several events heading into the Drake Relays that begin this Thursday, April 25. She has the “Blue Standard” in the 100-meter dash and the fastest 100 time in the state at 12.11. More impressively, she’s only ran the 100-meter twice this year, as she’s been recovering from an early season hamstring injury. Sellers also has the Blue Standard in the 400-meter dash with the eighth fastest overall time in the state at 57.55. In addition, Sellers qualified for the high jump, which she has only performed in once this season. She cleared 5-4.25 to qualify as the 11th overall jumper.
