ACGC wins shootout against Madrid, 17-12

The ACGC baseball team (4-4-1) traveled to Madrid (4-6) on Tuesday, June 10. ACGC came away with the win in the 29-run contest, in part thanks to a nine-run burst in the second inning. Madrid scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull the game within two runs, 13-11, in favor of ACGC. The Chargers answered right back, scoring four runs in the top of the seventh, giving ACGC plenty of insurance. ACGC tallied 11 hits. Ben Franzeen recorded the only extra base hit, a double. The Chargers were disciplined at the plate, drawing 14 walks. Tommy Skram led with three RBIs. William Skram and Chase Slaybaugh each had two RBIs. Franzeen, Noah Kading, Taytum Bates, Jackson Pfrang and Payton Policky each had one RBI. The Skrams were active on the basepath. Tommy Skram had four steals; William Skram had two. Blaize Dorsey pitched five and one-third innings, recording the win. He only allowed four hits. Chase Slaybaugh with two-thirds and William Skram with one inning finished out the game on the mound.

Crees named IGCA 1A All State, All District, Kautzky named All District

A pair of Panorama girls soccer players earned individual accolades. Morgan Crees was named Iowa Girls Coaches Association 1A All State and All District. Karli Kautzky was named IGCA All District. Crees scored the second-most goals in the state this year with 55.

Panthers fall in doubleheader against No. 4 Van Meter, 10-0 in both games

Individual stats were not available for the Panthers baseball team (3-9) clash against Van Meter (12-4) on Thursday, June 12. Panorama returns to its home diamond on Monday, June 16 for a double header against ACGC (5-4-1).

Panorama bounces back against Madrid, 14-4

The Panorama baseball team (4-7) got back into the win column at Madrid (4-7) on Wednesday, June 11. Panorama had lost its last four prior contests. The majority of the Panther offense came in the fourth inning when the team scored seven runs, creating a 9-0 lead. Brayden Galvan, Bryce Dawes and Mason Meinecke each tallied two RBIs. Nolan Sheehy recorded one RBI. Brayden Meinecke led the team in hits with three. Eli Cooper, Braden Bahrenfuss, Cruz Crandall and Sheehy all scored two runs. Brayden Meinecke, Parker Cary, Dawes, Mason Meinecke and Jaysen Stagg each scored one run. Galvan pitched all six innings, picking up the win. He struck out four batters and only allowed five hits.

Panorama falls to Ogden, 13-1

The Panorama baseball team (2-7) hosted Ogden (4-11) on Tuesday, June 10. Ogden jumped out to an early lead, scoring 10 runs in the first two innings. Panorama secured its one run in the bottom of the fourth to avoid the shut-out. Panorama had five hits in the game; the one run scored was by Brayden Galvan, driving in Mason Meinecke. Parker Cary and Nolan Sheehy split time on the mound. In one and one-third innings pitched, Cary struck out one batter. Sheehy struck out four in his three and two-third innings.
