Panorama boys wrestling returns to action for PCM Wrestling Invite

The Panorama boys wrestling team returns to the mat for the first time since winter break to compete in the PCM Wrestling Invite on Saturday, Jan. 10. Panorama will face Central Decatur, Chariton, Des Moines East, Frontenac, Gilbert, Indianola, Iowa Falls-Alden, Knoxville, Nevada, Panorama, PCM, Pleasantville, South Tama County, Southeast Polk and Southeast Warren.

Panther boys team loses to Pleasantville, 94-58

The Panorama boys basketball team (0-8) lost its away game to Pleasantville (4-3) on Monday, Jan. 5. Panorama will aim to get into the win column for the first time against Ogden (1-8) on Friday, Jan. 9. Panorama dropped both games against the Bulldogs last season, 56-52 and 67-35.

Panorama Girls Wrestling Invite happens tonight

The Panorama girls wrestling team hosts the Panorama Girls Wrestling Invite tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 6. Entering the Panorama gym will be Atlantic, Creston, Harlan Community, Interstate 35, Mount Ayr, Perry and SWAT Valkyrie.

Panther girls fall to Pleasantville, 60-48

The Panorama girls basketball team (2-6) dropped its first game since returning from break to Pleasantville (5-3) on Monday, Jan. 5. Morgan Crees led the Panthers in scoring with 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Ashley Crees also reached double figures, scoring 12. Ines Gimeno-Perez led the team in steals with three.

The girls next game is on Thursday, Jan. 8, at Creston (3-5).

Matthewson named Assistant Coach for Iowa Shrine Bowl South team

Cody Matthewson, head coach of the ACGC football team, was recently announced as an assistant coach for the Iowa Shrine Bowl South team. The Iowa Shrine Bowl is a yearly All-Star game played since 1972 that recognizes senior athletes and coaches from across the state. Funds from the game benefit Shriners Children’s.

ACGC boys basketball faces Des Moines Christian tonight

The ACGC boys basketball team (2-4) returns to the court since returning from winter break to face Des Moines Christian (4-2) away from home on Tuesday, Jan. 6. ACGC went into the midseason break with a win over Panorama. Des Moines Christian also went into the break in winning fashion, defeating Pleasantville. These teams played once last season with ACGC winning, 63-50.
