The Panorama boys track and field team competed at the state-qualifying meet at Treynor High School May 14, placing ninth with 41 points. The host team, Treynor, captured first with 121 points, which was a commanding lead over second-place finisher Shenandoah at 99 points.

Reed Draper highlighted with first place in the long jump. Syler Shaffer captured second in the 400-meter hurdles.

Other top-five finishers included: Cristian Monrroy-Nunez, fourth, shot put; the 800-meter sprint medley team of J. Gimeno-Perez, C. Crandall, B. Bahrenfuss and B. Schwartz, fourth; and Corbin Deardorff, fifth, 400 meters.

The ACGC girls golf team travels to Neola for the Class 1A Region 2B meet hosted by Tri-Center today, Friday, May 15, with a chance to advance to the state meet. The girls compete against AHSTW, Audubon, CAM, Earlham, Nodaway Valley, Riverside and Tri-Center.

The ACGC girls golf team shot a 242 at the Panorama nine-hole invite on Tuesday, May 12 to finish fifth. Des Moines Christian won the meet, shooting 177. DM-C’s Courtney Latham was the medalist, shooting a 41. ACGC scores were not available as of press time.

The ACGC boys golf team shot a 370 at the 1A IHSAA Sectional hosted by CAM on Wednesday, May 13. Earlham won the meet, shooting 302. Earlham’s Konnar Stiles was the medalist, shooting a 74. ACGC’s Sayer Bireline-Huss was not too far behind him, placing fifth, shooting a 77. Other Charger rounds recorded were Ryne Noland, 96; Easton Gettler, 97; Preston Kent, 100; Ryan Martens, 100; and Carter Dinkla, 106. This concludes their season.

The ACGC girls track and field team competed at the state-qualifying event at Audubon High School on May 14 and placed eighth. IKM-Manning topped the field with 118 points with CAM-Anita in a close second with 108 points.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Meranda Gruber, S. Akers, Cadence Petersen and N. Langaard placed first, 1:50.34. Other top-five finishers were: 800 sprint medley, fourth; 4×100-meter relay, fourth; 4×400-meter relay, fourth; and Cadence Petersen, 400-meter hurdles, fourth, and high jump, fifth.
