Brayden Galvan hits hole-in-one during practice round

Panorama boys golfer Brayden Galvan hit one of the most elusive shots in golf during a practice round on May 1 at Lake Panorama National Golf Course: a hole-in-one. The shot on the par 3 on hole 13 was witnessed by coach Connor Osbahr and teammates Mason Cates, Cole Cartens, Casey Young and Jackson Stauffer.

Panorama boys host West Central Activities Conference meet tonight

The Panorama boys golf team welcomes their conference foes for the WCAC meet today, Tuesday, May 5. The Panthers hit the links against ACGC, Des Moines Christian, Earlham, Interstate 35, Madrid, Ogden, Pleasantville, Van Meter, West Central Valley and Woodward-Granger.

Panther girls place 8th at WCAC meet

The Panorama girls golf team traveled to Pleasantville on Monday, May 4 for the West Central Activities Conference meet. The girls shot 454 to place eighth. Des Moines Christian won the meet, shooting 317. Josie Bemis of Van Meter was the medalist, shooting 69. Anabel Pudenz had the best score for Panorama, placing 32nd, shooting 109. Ava Thompson placed 34th, shooting 111. Alyssa Stanley placed 39th, shooting 115, Maci Bauer placed 43rd, shooting 119. Avery Ambrose placed 44th, shooting 120. Miranda Laabs placed 47th, shooting 123.

Panther girls earn wins over Perry, 7-0 and Clarke Community, 10-0

The Panorama girls soccer team (9-1) continued its impressive start to the season with two more dominant wins. On Friday, May 1, at Perry (4-4-1), the girls won 7-0. Morgan Crees scored five goals in the contest. Jacey Glade and Ashley Crees scored the other two. Ashley had the team’s lone assist.

Then, on Monday, May 4, the girls put 10 past Clarke Community (1-4-3) away from home. Morgan Crees scored another five goals. Kailee Kautzky scored three for the hat trick. Ines Gimeno-Perez scored two for the brace. Karli Kautzky had two assists. Ines Gimeno-Perez, Nerea Gimeno-Perez and Kailee Kautzky all had one assist.

Next up for the girls is the Creston Panther Invite on Saturday, May 9. The tournament includes Creston, Greene County and Riverside.

ACGC girls competed at WCAC meet on Monday

The ACGC girls golf team did not place at the West Central Activities Conference meet at Pleasantville on Monday, May 4. Des Moines Christian won the meet, shooting 317. Van Meter’s Josie Bemis was the medalist, shooting 69. Ava Sneller had the best round for ACGC, placing 19th, shooting 98. Lucy Knutter placed 21st, shooting 98. Rylee Robson placed 25th, shooting 101. Allie DeWitt shot a 102 but was not scored with the Chargers.

The girls next meet is at Earlham on Thursday, May 7 against Earlham and Grand View Christian.
